David and Xu, Pollok House, 27 April 2012

David and Xu chose a lovely, mostly dry, day for their wedding at Pollok House which was a small family affair with a few close friends. Although their theme was traditionally Scottish, there was no mistaking Xu's chinese influence in the decorations tastefully placed in both the ceremony and in the dining room

Xu arrived in style in her Rolls Royce which looked fabulous parked out in front of the grand old house, where we spent a lovely afternoon taking both formal and fun photographs. However, we didn't forget how beautiful the inside of the house can be, and so when we felt a brief spatter of rain, we went into the house to take yet more photographs. What a variety this grand old mansion offers for photography!

David and Xu, you both looked fabulous on your wedding day. I hope you enjoy these taster images while you wait for the rest.

Ian and Sookyoung, Pollok House, 11 April 2012

Ian and Sookyoung both work in Korea but hope to return to Scotland to live and so although they were officially married in Korea, they chose to also have a small ceremony in Scotland to celebrate with their family here. And what better place to celebrate than Pollok House?

This grand old country mansion built in 1752 and then gifted to the National Trust in 1966, lends itself just perfectly to such a special event.

My commitment on their special day was to produce some beautiful photos of their day and a short ceremony video for them to take back to Korea on the 19th of April. Phew! A bit of a deadline rush, but I did it, and the couple, are extremely happy with the results.

A special thanks to Carole Ann for her patience and support when our photograph session ran over following a very delayed start to the ceremony and mixed weather during the afternoon.
I will be publishing a short highlights video of their day soon and in the mean time here are a few images for you to enjoy.

Pollok House

Another project I have been working on this winter is a wedding testimonials video for Pollok House. Pollok House invited a number of couples back to their venue to discuss how they felt about having had their wedding at Pollok House and we were asked to interview and film the couples.

The couples were fantastic company and we had a great time filming them while also hearing about each of their wedding days. Judging from the feedback from the couples, Pollok House is a definite hit as far as wedding venues are concerned, the couples had so many good things to say about the venues, that it was difficult to decide what to put into the final testimonials video and what to leave out.

The one comment that continued to impress me, was how each of the couples felt that they had been treated as individuals both before, during and after their wedding day and they had felt that Pollok house and the staff had been instrumental in making their wedding a very personal affair. After hearing from all the couples, we can honestly say that each and every couples wedding was different and we can see that the person that took care of them, whether it was Carole Ann, Julie or Ruth, they were given very personal attention and care the whole way through.

Here are 2 short webvideos that we put together using a small selection of the interviews that were taken on the day. If you are wondering where to have your wedding, these testimonials are definitely worth listening to.
