As I think I have mentioned a few times in this blog, the weather in Scotland is changeable, unpredictable and sometimes horrible (although sometimes wonderful, remember June this year?). Saying all that I have not had one wedding this season when I have not been able to get the couple outside for some naturally lit shots. I offer Wet Weather Insurance (if we can't get enough shots on your wedding day, we shoot it again). No claims this year! Maybe I am just lucky, maybe the couples say enough prayers, who knows.
Natural light is best, every photographer who knows what they are doing will tell you that. We dont like bright sunlight - hard contrasts and squinting eyes, but there are ways round that. As long as it is dry and not blowing a gale, we will be going outside! But I do like contingency plans, and have a venue that photographs well is always something to think about when you choose a venue. St Margaret's in Johnstone is lovely - the colours and light inside work really well, the chapel gardens have lots of variety. As a venue - wet or dry - it is perfect.
Alison and David had a beautiful Mass. Alison and Joanne, her bridesmaid, looking lovely while David, Chris and his groomsmen looked suitably handsome. David and Alison are obviously so in love and look great together. As always, thank you for the privilege of allowing me to share your day and help capture what I hope are some very special memories.
