Lindsay and Brent - Shalwyn

Lindsay and Brent were married at the beautiful Shalwyn wedding venue in Tala Valley, South Africa. Although the day began with lovely blue skies and sunshine, the afternoon bucketed down with rain, as it only can in Africa!

The rain was wild, but, it was impossible to dampen this couples spirits, Lindsay & Brent were as happy & relaxed as all wedding couples should be on their wedding day.

As photographers, what do we do on a wedding day when it rains? Carry on taking photographs of course, indoors or outdoors!! Then, as soon as we get a break in the rain, we all rush outside to capture images with  the stormy sky in the background!
Lindsay and Brent, I hope that you enjoy these few taster images and you can look forward to more to come! We so love being part of making a wedding day special and as an extended family member, it was even more meaningful to us. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to take your wedding day photos.

Licentiate member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers

Forgot to mention, while I was away I applied for the next level of qualification from the Society of Wedding and Portait Photographers (SWPP), the fastest growing worldwide association for professional photographers, and I am delighted that they have awarded me Licentiate membership!! I am so pleased, and so grateful to all my beautiful brides and handsome groomsthat feature in my submission ( and to all that didn't, I promise you are still special to me, but the judges need to see certain aspects of photography, which is why the selected images were submitted). You can see my submission here .

I am so looking forward to another exciting year, capturing memories of special days.

Quiet for a whole month, here's why ...

I have been quiet for a whole month, and I am so sorry. Brides, please don't panic, I just needed a holiday. But hey, you can't go on holiday and not take your cameras, so it was a holiday with two fantastic cherish shoots, two lovely baby photo sessions, and Lindsay and Brent's fabulous wedding at Shalwyn in the Tala Valley, South Africa. I am so fortunate to love my job. as someone once said "find a job that makes you happy and you will never work a day in your life". Maybe so, but I flew in yesterday afternoon, went to a wedding that we were videoing last night, and today I am at the wedding promotion by H. Samuel's the Jewellers in Silverburn.

Lots of photographs to come ...
